Commercial development includes the expansion of Las Vegas Premium Outlets mall, the new IRS bulidng and the Molasky Corporate Center. The 61-acre Union Park is under construction and casinos such as Golden Nugget, lady Luck and El Cortez are being renovated for several million dollars. Fremont East, adjacent to the Fremont Experience, will be an entertainment district offering dining, shopping and music, while the 18b Arts District is a mixture of galleries, boutiques and antique shops. The Fifth Street School in downtown Las Vegas will be the center of the “cultural oasis” and the new “courthouse district” is in the heart of downtown. The Redevelopment Area is offering great incentives to companies relocating to the downtown area, in an effort to attract new businesses, while the residential real estate market of downtown Las Vegas grows to meet the needs of this urban corridor.
